It was a cold snowy week at the Zippin Pippin Roller Coaster Construction Site. Early in the week Green Bay had snow, then late in the week sub zero wind chills. Construction crews took the opportunity to get some of the inside work done under the loading platform and in the lift house. The updates are below.
Crews were adding insulation and drywall to the inside of the two enclosed structures on the roller coaster. The first structure houses the lift motor, gearbox, and sprocket. The second structure is under the loading platform and will be used to house some of the mechanical elements on the final brake run and loading platform.
Even with the cold and snow they did manage to complete the steel on turn 2, all the way down the first drop, and were just wrapping up the steel going up the first uphill after the first drop an into turn 3.
The out and back continues to be fitted with wooden track, the early part of the out and back now has the wooden laminations added to it's track.
A single layer of the wood track now extends all the way out to the turn around.
Given the extremely cold temperatures my visit this week was quick but I did attempt to take a panorama of the inside of turn 1 and 3.
